A Dark Ritual

Blockout This is my idea that I had for the composition of the scene. The iron maiden is at the center, on the platform. Ornate wall behind it that will have carvings, hieroglyphics, paint, etc. At the side of the wall, there are square columns that will also have ornate patterns and carvings. There are the columns that support the ceiling. The floor is made from stone tiles. I would like the make it look like a diorama, so that it looks like th floor and edges of the scene fade out, rather than just look like a square space. I feel like that would present better. In front of the iron maiden, down the steps is the table where the dagger or copic jars would be placed upon, ot instead of the table, a staff placed into the stone tiling, or the staff could also be placed onto the table.

My Initial Idea I am thinking of doing something along the lines of an Egyptian esophagus, or an iron maiden as the main centerpiece for my scene. Something really ornate, and a mixture of hardsurface and oranic modelling that would require the use of ZBrush to get lots of rich details. This could be set in a crypt or tomb, that could have really interesting architectural elements to it, such as columns, archways, struts, walkways, etc. This could easily be complimented with decorative elements like banners, or a tapestry and smaller tables and interesting unique objects that meets the brief too. I will have to brainstorm how I would go about composition and what exactly I would like to achieve with it. The more I think about it, the more I would like to do a unique iron maiden torture device as my centerpiece. I feel like that could bring an interesting story element into it, because why would there be a torture device in the center of an ornate room? Maybe a ritual of some kin

Starting Development Iron Maiden I have started to flesh out my idea now by creating artbibles using Photoshop. This have proven to be extremely useful as I can refer back to these images if I get stuck or need reference to what I can use during my blockout and concept. For my centerpiece, I want to create a large iron maiden torture device that was used in some kind of dark ritual. Istead of the design of the iron maiden being just a normal cast iron coffin, I want to add some originality to it, by turning it into an Egyptian iron maiden. As far as I'm concerned, it was purely an European torture device, so adding hieroglyphics, ornate patterns and rich materials and colour would be quite unique.  The head of the torture device, I want to incorporate a new face, of a screaming man, except it would be more demonic, almost demented and elongated in appearance. I will need to do some research into hieroglyphics so that I can make the symbols I'm using relevent to the
